Welcome to Peter’s Scribbles!
Within this page you’ll find stories, poems, and essays. I’m inviting you on my personal journey. It’s a writing journey, but also a journey into the mind of a bipolar psychotic. I’ve been living with a mental illness diagnosis for nearly 15 years. It’s taken over my life, but writing gives me an outlet like no other.
This page is not unlike a personal journal, however it is my hope that I have written with enough clarity to bring you along with me. My work is a blend between fiction and non-fiction. Most of my work is pulled directly from my life, but then spun further with my own imagination.
I’ve studied English, Education, and Writing at Radford University and then later at Shenandoah University. I have a difficult time labeling myself as a writer, but it is my passion, my sanity, and my very life depends on it at times.
Along with stand alone essays, poems, and short stories, I am currently working on a longer project. It’s what I’m referring to as a “fictional memoir” titled, Where the Sunbeams End . Honestly I don’t know where this project will take us, but along the way I will reveal as much as I can and strive to become a better writer. I hope you’ll join me; I’ll need your support. Thanks for being here and as always, Good Vibes.
P.S.
For those of you who don’t have the time to read or would prefer to listen, I also have a podcast tab where you can listen to me read my work and give a little behind the scenes about each piece.
