This was a tough one to read, evocatively written. Dogs always get me.

I love how much detail and expression you put into your stories, Peter. I might be a bit bias, but you understand. ❤️ You sharing your experiences with others gives hope to those who share the same illness.

Peter, this is a terrific piece of writing. Are you the Peter in the story, or did you just use your name for chracter modeling?

I think Bella almost steals the show, because you've made her unbearably adorable. I could see her little face resting in her car bed. Aside from Bella the whole story of Peter and Lucy, and her tragic death, are riviting. Thank you for this.

Hey Sandy, thanks for reading and thanks for your kindness. Do hope you enjoyed this story!

These stories are certainly based on my own life, but under a veil of fiction...if that makes sense.

Bella and Peter appear together in my short story "Dzedu" and "Dead Man's Curve," so you might enjoy reading those as well. Enjoy your evening!

Yeah, not bad for an old man I guess, haha. I started a new series that’s grown to 8 parts/chapters now. Good to read your stuff again. - Jim

Glad to hear you're hanging in there Jim. I'll surely have to catch up on my Substack reading, I've been busier lately it seems, haven't made enough time for reading or writing, but we're still here pushing forward. Looking forward to enjoying your work again soon. Best wishes Jim.
