Heartbreaking. I am a dog and animal lover in general as well. My thoughts may turn to darkness in the wake of such an incident as well.

This is beautiful. The love our dogs have for us is so pure, and we do our very best to reciprocate. Glad I found your work, Peter, and I look forward to continue diving into it.

A great metaphor for how we bury scraps of our lives within us -

“The same way that our memories get buried and hidden in the murky depths of our subconscious. Each one a small morsel, just waiting to be uncovered once more.”

Our furry friends bring us so much ; I’ve had dogs and cats pretty much all my life. Our first dog got run over when I was very young and I remember how shocking it felt. I didn’t see it happen but my mother did… I’ve always been Tver with my animals right up to the end, cuddled them as the vet has ended pain and illness and it’s so so hard. I always wonder whether I should have waited one more day or one more week…. You know? Thanks for sharing this with us Peter . Lovely piece xx
